Ever since the social media platforms have become an integral part of our lives, several arguments have emerged about their security. Every other day we come across incidents where personal information was compromised on a social media platform. Facebook, however, has introduced a new feature that allows its users to check the information shared by other platforms and delete it too.

Facebook had announced a new Off-Facebook Activity tool last year, with an aim to offer a more secure experience to its users. The feature has now been launched and is available on the platform. The feature informs you about the apps and websites that are sharing your data and information with the social media giant and also gives you an option to delete history. This information includes the websites you visited, the products you purchased and more.

It can tell you which companies are supplying Facebook with information about your real-world activity — for example, that you visited their website or purchased a product from it.

1. Open Facebook and log in to your account.

2. Go to Settings and click on the tab that reads Your Facebook Information.

3. There will be an option for Off-Facebook Activity.

4. Click on View.

At this step, you are likely to be stunned as the new window will show all the apps that have shared your data with Facebook. In case of the writer, as many as 339 apps and websites had shared data with Facebook including food delivery platforms, social media platforms and media publications.

"This is a summary of the 339 apps and websites that have shared your activity," the window read, while adding that some of your activity may not appear here. Right next to the text, there is an option to clear the entire history.
