Telecom operator Airtel is expected to launch its own video conferencing app with an aim to take on JioMeet and Zoom in the Indian market. Called Airtel BlueJeans, the service is yet to be announced officially but has made its way to company’s official website, highlighting some of its features. The company is likely to make the official announcement soon.

The telco has apparently partnered with Verizon-owned BlueJeans to bring its JioMeet-rival to the Indian market. However, service is only likely to be available for enterprise customers. On the other hand, JioMeet is available for both enterprises and end customers.

Apart from JioMeet, Airtel BlueJeans will also Compete against popular video conferencing solutions including Zoom, Cisco Webex, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams.

The official website reveals that the service will be initially available for free trial, for which the customers need to register on the Airtel site by submitting their details, and the trial will be activated within 24 hours of registration. Notably, you can get BlueJeans subscription directly from the company as well, without going through Airtel, but it will be missing a few features that Airtel is bundling.

The service can come with feature such as real-time meetings analytics and live meeting controls. Users will also get dial-in options started at Re 0.50 paise per call. It will also have an Airtel Audio Bridge integration to enable India and international dial in support on a pay-per-use model.

The platform will work on both desktop as well as smartphones. It also can be accessed through Web browsers and virtual desktop infrastructures as well as interoperable with Cisco, Poly, Lifesize, and other room system gears that are based on SIP or H.323 standards.

The solution will also have features such as in-meeting analytics, real-time alerts, and live meeting controls.
