The Government of India has taken several steps to fight coronavirus pandemic including a 21-day nationwide lockdown. The steps also include the launch of the Aarogya Setu app. The new app is designed to inform its users regarding risks, best practices and relevant advisories pertaining to the containment of Covid-19. The app was designed through Public-Private Partnership under NIC guidance and includes privacy-first design.

The app is available in 11 languages and can be downloaded for both Android and iOS users. Here is how you can download and use the app.

- Go to App Store and Play Store to download Aarogya Setu app.

- Once the app is downloaded, open it and select the language.

- Click on the 'Register Now' option.

- To proceed further, grant permissions to the app. 

- You have to read all terms and conditions and click on the 'I Agree' button.

- Enter your mobile number.

- An OTP will be sent to your mobile number for verification.

- Fill in details like name, age, profession, countries travel outside in the last 30 days, tick mark the option 'Ready to volunteer in the time of need' and click 'Submit'. 

- Now you can find the details of Covid-19 Help Centres and do a self-assessment test.

During the test you will be asked some details and after providing all the necessary details.

- The app will let you know about the chances of your infection risk.

- The Aarogya Setu app will also be helpful for knowing 'Covid-19 Do’s and Don’ts' and 'Safety measures against Covid-19'.

The number of coronavirus cases in India have crossed the 4000 mark while over 100 deaths have been reported so far. The lockdown announced by the government lifts on April 14, as of now.
