Global technology brand Xiaomi is set to launch its first tablet in India. Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain took to micro-blogging site Twitter and officially teased a new tablet device for India.

The official tweet from the top executive said, “Mi Fans, we’re gearing up to make your wish come true. Always Believe in the power of making dreams come true. #KeepTabsOnUs in the power of making dreams come true. #KeepTabsOnUs.”

There’s also a dedicated microsite on the Xiaomi India website but it only has a countdown for April 1st at 12 PM IST. Whether this is the launch date or just a timeline to reveal more details is yet to be disclosed.

While the tablet device could be a brand new model, there are chances it could be the recently launched Mi Pad 5. The Xiaomi Pad 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor, 8,720mAh battery and it has a13MP camera sensor at the back.

The new Xiaomi Pad 5 is priced at EUR 349 (roughly Rs.30,300) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option. It is priced at EUR 399 (roughly Rs. 34,600) for the 6GB RAM + 256GB storage option. It comes in Cosmic Gray and Pearl White colour options.

An early bird price of EUR 299 (roughly Rs. 25,900) has been introduced for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option.  Xiaomi Pad 5 runs Android 11 and offers an 11-inch WQHD+ TrueTone display with support 120Hz refresh rate and 16:10 aspect ratio. The tablet supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor.

The device has an 8,720mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. The Chinese company claims that the Xiaomi Pad 5 can deliver up to 10 hours of gaming, 16 hours of video playback, and 5 days of music playback. It supports the Face Unlock feature too and split-screen for multitasking.
