Smartphones launching in October 2020: A storm is coming. This time not in Sharjah but, in India. October will be a crazy month for technology enthusiasts with a wave of smartphones launching in the country, starting with the first week itself. Almost every major smartphone player is set to launch a smartphone this month, hoping to increase sales, which have been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Google is set to bring its new Pixel smartphone to the country, Apple is likely to launch new line-up of iPhones and OnePlus 8T launch date has also been announced. Xiaomi, Realme, Vivo, Samsung and Oppo are also likely to launch their new smartphones in the same month.

The launches will also coincide with festive season sales set to be hosted by e-commerce giants Flipkart and Amazon. While Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale is scheduled for between October 16 to October 21, Amazon is set to announce its dates this week. If you are planning to buy a new smartphone, keep a close eye on all the new launches.

Apart from this, you can expect plenty of action in other segments as well with Realme set to unveil its AIoT products during a launch event on October 7. The company is expected to launch a new smartTV among other things. OnePlus is also tipped to launch more than one product during its October 14 launch event. These may include new OnePlus buds.  

Samsung has anyway been very aggressive in India this year and to assume that Galaxy F41 will be the only smartphone it will launch this month, would be stupid. Apple’s recently launched iPad Air and Watch 6 are yet to go on sale in India. So, that’s something to keep an eye on as well.  

Sony is also planning to launch new TVs under the Bravia series sometime this month. TWS segment is expected to keep getting new products both from traditional and non-traditional players. Lastly, you can also expect Indian brands like Lava and Micromax to make some noise.
