While he didn’t say much about the upcoming smartphone, few details of the line up have been leaked online, suggesting that Micromax can launch two smartphones soon.

Micromax in: Price in India (speculated)

The official price is yet to be revealed but both the smartphones are tipped to cost between Rs 7,000 and Rs 15,000. This will allow Micromax to compete with the likes of Xiaomi, Realme, and Samsung budget phones.

Micromax in: Features and Specs

Both the Micromax in smartphones are likely to come with MediaTek chipsets. While one of them will be powered by a MediaTek G35 processor, the other one could get a MediaTek G85 chipset. The one with the MediaTek G35 processor is likely to get a 6.5-inch HD+ display and a 5,000mAh battery. It can be launched in two variants - 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage.

Micromax in: Camera

One of the smartphones should feature dual rear cameras (13MP, 5MP), and an 8MP front camera. The second variant might get triple rear cameras (13MP, 5MP, 2MP) and a 13MP selfie shooter.

To begin the strategic re-entry into the smartphone segment, Micromax plans to invest Rs 500 crore and will build products from ground-up for the new-age Indian consumer. It will be introducing a new range of smartphones under the ‘in’ brand. It will be using facilities in Bhiwadi and Hyderabad to produce over 2 million phones per month. Furthermore, the brand is working on strengthening its already established retail and distribution network. Currently it has a retail presence of more 10K+ outlets and over 1000+ service centres across India.
