Apple iOS 15 public beta launch: Good news for Apple iPhone users across the globe, including India, the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has now started rolling out the first public beta of the next-generation iOS 15. This will allow the public to try out the latest operating system’s new features.

The tech giant had announced iOS 15 last month during its WWDC 2021 keynote conference and made iOS 15 developer beta available on the iPhone. Back then, the company had said that the public beta version will arrive on June 30.

The iOS 15 software comes packed with several advanced features than ever before. The latest iOS iteration brings updates to FaceTime, iMessage, Focus Mode, Apple Maps, Weather, Photos, Photos Memories with Memory Mixe, and much more.

To download iOS 15 on your iPhone --

Go to Apple‘s beta website on your iPhone or iPad and sign in with your Apple ID. Then you will find the ‘Guide for public beta’ option. Click on it. Then, select the ‘Enroll your devices’ option under ‘Get Started.’ Select the OS you want to try.

Now, select the ‘Download Profile’ option, then Allow, and then Close. After this, open Settings on the iPhone you want to try the software out. Now, select the ‘Profile Downloaded’ option at the top.

After typing in your password and providing the necessary permissions, a certificate from the Apple Beta Software Program will be downloaded and your device will be rebooted. Once it is restarted, head to the Settings > General > Software Update, and download the update available.

Eligible iPhones --  ​iPhone SE (first gen), iPhone SE 2020, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max support iOS 15.

In iOS 15, FaceTime will receive spatial audio and voice isolation features. Users can also share music and videos during calls during Facetime. They can also include Android users on FaceTime with a shareable link that opens the call in a browser, the company announced during its WWDC21 virtual event. Notifications will show contact photos on text notifications and bigger app icons.

iOS 15 will make it possible for others to see when you enable ‘Do Not Disturb' mode via an automatic status update in Messages on your device. Images shared in messages will appear in places like your photo gallery and memories.

The tech giant also announced that AirPods will get major improvements with iOS 15, including "Conversation Boost" feature that will help people with hearing difficulties fear other people's voices. AirPods will also get the ability to read out other important notifications.
