Airtel 5G: Major telecom operator Bharti Airtel on Wednesday announced the launch of its cutting-edge 5G services in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Currently operational at Gomti Nagar, Hazratganj, Aliganj, Aishbagh, Rajajipuram, Aminabad, Jankipuram, Alambagh and Vikas Nagar and a few other select locations, Airtel will augment its network making its services available across the city in due course of time, the company said.

Airtel India said that Airtel customers can now experience ultrafast networks and enjoy speed up to 20-30 times faster than the current 4G speed. Airtel 5G Plus services will be available to customers in a phased manner as the company continues to construct its network and complete the rollout. Customers with 5G-enabled devices will enjoy a high-speed Airtel 5G Plus network at no extra cost until the rollout is more widespread.

The upgraded network will allow superfast access to high definition video streaming, gaming, instant uploading of photos along with revolutionising technical changes in education, healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, mobility and logistics, the company claims. 

Customers with 5G enabled devices will enjoy high-speed Airtel 5G Plus network at no extra cost until the roll out is more widespread. Earlier this month, Bharti Airtel said it crossed the one million unique 5G user mark on its network, as the telecom operator rolls out 5G services in a phased manner.

How to enable 5G services on your phone

- There is no need to change the SIM as the existing Airtel 4G SIM is 5G enabled.

- Click on the Settings option. 

- Click on the SIM card and mobile networks. 

- Click on the Preferred network type.

 - Select Prefer 5G option

Airtel is deploying 5G non-standalone (NSA) networks, and several smartphones support its 5G. Airtel has launched 5G in 13 cities of India now - Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Siliguri, Lucknow, Patna, Gurugram, Varanasi, Guwahati and Panipat.
