"After releasing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.24.2 update, WhatsApp is now launching a minor test by rolling out messages with yourself to some beta testers," WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp, said in a report.  "After updating to the latest update of the Android app, some beta testers noticed that WhatsApp is now highlighting that chat by adding “message yourself” as the chat caption," according to the report

The Meta-owned application is now testing some improvements for sending messages to yourself for some beta testers on WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS. WhatsApp is only highlighting the chat with your own phone number by using a different caption.

If you send a message to the chat with your phone number, it will be always synced with your other linked devices since it is no longer an unsupported feature when using multi-device.

In addition, on Android, the chat with your phone number will also be available within your contacts list on WhatsApp so it will be easier for users to reach their own chat if they still don’t have one in the chats list. At the moment, your phone number is not visible within your contacts list so it is needed to use click to WhatsApp to open it. Meanwhile, WhatsApp new update brings changes for the layout when an image, video, GIF, or document, with a caption is forwarded.
