At F8 Refresh, WhatsApp have announced updates for the WhatsApp Business API which will help it quicker for the businesses to get started and will make it easier for people to chat with these businesses. The introduction of these new features by the secured messaging platform will help to connect people with the businesses better.

WhatsApp also makes it easy for small and medium businesses to get started and expand their business using the messaging platform easily. In a blog post, WhatsApp has stated, "We’ve cut down the time it takes for businesses to get up and running from weeks to just five minutes. Whether a business wants to work with a business solution provider or get support directly from Facebook in the future, these improvements will make it easier for more medium and larger businesses to have customer conversations on WhatsApp."

With more and more businesses coming on WhatsApp, the messaging platform is looking into ways of improving how businesses can communicate with their customers. For instance, often businesses were limited to sending timely notifications and this was difficult to follow up with customers outside of a 24-hour window. To avoid this, now, WhatsApp Business will support more types of messages to let people know when an item is back in stock. The messaging platform also said, "We’ve also seen how periodic updates from health authorities about responding to the pandemic have been helpful and we want to make this kind of service available for more types of conversations."

WhatsApp also informed that they are rolling out new messaging features which can be instrumental for people to get business faster. It said, "New list messages present a menu of up to 10 options, so people no longer need to type out a response. Reply buttons will allow people to quickly make a selection from up to three options with just a quick tap that a business can set ahead of time through their WhatsApp Business API account." The messaging platform has further confirmed that people will always remain in control of their chats and people still will have to reach out to start a new conversation or request a business contact via WhatsApp.

With the introduction of these updates, the secured messaging platform is providing new ways for people to give greater feedback about the experience they are having if they have a reason to block a business.
