WhatsApp has released its latest update for iOS and is offering several new features. iPhone users using the updated version will now be able to search messages by date. They will also get some new shortcuts that will enable them to perform actions for certain group participants.

According to reports, the WhatsApp update has new shortcuts for the group admins that simplify interactions with members. As groups can now have up to 1024 participants, it will save the time of admins as they will no longer have to navigate through the group info screen to find contact information.

The feature will be available for those who install the latest update of WhatsApp. As part of the feature, phone numbers will be highlighted in the group and admins can use the shortcut to quickly call and chat with participants in private.

The instant messaging app is also giving users to have more control over their chat history. This will help users to search for messages from any specific date.

How to search messages on WhatsApp by date

 

Step 1: Open the app and select the chat in which you want to search for old messages.

Step 2: Click on the name of the person to open contact info

Step 3: Here you will see a new 'search' option along with audio, video and payment options.

Step 4: Click on the search option.

Step 5: Click on the icon above the keyboard and search for your specific date, month and year.

Also, it was recently reported that WhatsApp is rolling out a new 'voice status updates' feature for users of iOS beta. This feature will allow users to share voice notes via status updates. So far users are only allowed to share photos and videos via status updates.
