According to a report from Android Police, the upcoming release is not to be confused with Rocket League Sideswipe, which will be launched for iOS and Android mobile platforms later this year (around November).

As per XDA Developers, the documents made available via Android Police during the ongoing Epic Games vs Apple trial, Psyonix, which was acquired by Epic Games, is planning to create a next-generation launcher for Rocket League that would bring the full experience to all platforms, including mobile.

The document also shows that Epic Games was planning to start testing Rocket League for mobile in beta in the second quarter of 2021.These documents were initially drafted back in June 2020, so it’s possible plans have changed.

However, hearing that the developers want to bring Rocket League to an even wider audience makes sense, it added. As of now, Rocket League is available on pretty much every other platform, including consoles, PC, Nintendo Switch and more.

Meanwhile, Fortnite, one of the most popular battle royale games available in the world, has a very dedicated following of players and also spectators. To keep its fanbase happy, the Epic Games keeps on performing crossovers and holding online in-game events like the recent Travis Scott concert. Now, it plans to make the NBA fans that play it happy.

Epic Games' internal presentation showcased that the company is planning to add a basketball mini-game inside the game as part of a broader NBA partnership, which it called the “Fortnite version of arcade basketball” in one slide.

The mini-game will have virtual courts within matches where gamers can play basketball instead of the standard Battle Royale. The partnership would include playoff events, themed emotes and NBA shows inside the game.
