PUBG Mobile ban in India: The government on Wednesday blocked 118 more mobile apps with Chinese links, including popular game PUBG, citing data privacy concerns and a threat to national security. This takes the total count of Chinese-linked mobile apps banned by India to 224. The apps banned on Wednesday include Baidu, Baidu Express Edition, Alipay, Tencent Watchlist, FaceU, WeChat reading, Government WeChat, Tencent Weiyun, APUS Launcher Pro, APUS Security, Cut Cut, ShareSave by Xiaomi, and CamCard, besides PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite, an official statement said.

It cited numerous complaints received by the IT Ministry from various sources, including several reports about the misuse of some mobile apps available on Android and iOS platforms for stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users' data to servers outside India. 

PUBG Banned in India 

The biggest name in the list was definitely PUBG Mobile – a game that has been downloaded millions of times in the country. Notably, the game is also available on PC and gaming consoles but the ban has only been imposed on its mobile version.  

Yet, the game is still running for users who had it downloaded before the ban. The government is likely to block it in a phased manner. If you are one of them, it is advised the app be removed.  

How to uninstall PUBG Mobile on Android 

Open Settings app on your Android smartphone. 

Look for Apps or Applications and tap on that. 

Find the app named ‘PUBG Mobile’ and click on it. 

Tap on the Uninstall icon to get rid of it forever.  

How to uninstall PUBG Mobile on iPhone, iPad 

In order to uninstall any of the banned apps, just tap and hold the app until you see a cross icon. Tap the cross icon to get rid of the app from your iPhone or iPad.
