Under the Startup India programme, the government will provide various assistance to give a boost to women entrepreneurship. These include online and offline courses/ programmes for capacity building for women,  facilitate advisory needs on legal, tax, and financial matters, among others. Under the programme interactions of women entrepreneurs with venture capitalists/banks will be organised to ease access to equity and debt.

The  government had earlier announced to earmark Rs 1000 crore out of FFS for women-led/centric startups.  "Online & offline courses/ programs will be designed/implemented for capacity devmt of women entrepreneurs. Their advisory needs on legal, tax, financial will be facilitated by connecting to suitable service providers. Will do our very best to deliver on all these decisions," tweeted Ramesh Abhishek, Secretary to GoI, Dept of Industry & Internal Trade.

"We will ensure that at least 1/3rd of beneficiaries of @startupindia are women. Also other depts/States will be encouraged to do the same. Will also organize interactions of women entrepreneurs with VCs/ Banks to ease access to equity and debt," Abhishek tweeted.

As promised on International Women's Day, we have announced specific decisions to support entrepreneurship among women, Abhishek said on Twitter.  Startup India is the flagship initiative of the government to catalyse startup culture and build a strong and inclusive ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship in India. Since the launch of the initiative in 2016, Startup India has rolled out several programmes with the objective of supporting entrepreneurs, and transforming India into a country of job creators instead of job seekers.
