Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded creation of 1 lakh jobs by MSMEs in Manipur on Saturday.

In reply to a tweet by the Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh, the Prime Minister said; "Well done Manipur! Keep up the good work of leveraging the strength of the MSME sector in order to further the state’s progress."

It can be noted that the Chief Minister of Manipur had informed about the creation of one lakh jobs by MSMEs in Manipur via his twitter account.

"Nearly 1 lakh jobs created by MSMEs in Manipur. I am extremely proud to share that Manipur is one of the highest ranking States in the North East Region in both Registration of MSMEs and Employment generation in the GoI’s Analysis of Udyam Registration Data," he tweeted.

 

As per the information provided by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medim Enterprises, the central government, has notified the following criteria for classification of micro, small and medium enterprises, namely:

(i) a micro enterprise, where the investment in Plant and Machinery or Equipment does not exceed one crore rupees and turnover does not exceed five crore rupees;

(ii) a small enterprise, where the investment in Plant and Machinery or Equipment does not exceed ten crore rupees and turnover does not exceed fifty crore rupees;

(iii) a medium enterprise, where the investment in Plant and Machinery or Equipment does not exceed fifty crore rupees and turnover does not exceed two hundred and fifty crore rupees.
