The fresh funding round was led by a marquee Climate tech-focused fund, Green Frontier Capital (GFC). Other investors, like Dhanuka Agritech Limited, VC Grid, and other family offices, also participated in the round.

In May 2023, the agritech firm KisanKonnect raised its angel round of funding, in which Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty also took part.

"The company’s commitment ensures that fresh produce arrives on your plate at lightning speed. We're deeply passionate about an eco-friendly future, and Kisankonnect's groundbreaking supply chain is a game-changer. Teaming up with them excites us, as together, we’re sure to make a tangible impact in reducing carbon emissions in the agricultural sector," said Sandiip Bhammer, managing partner and founder of GFC.

Kisankonnect sources directly from farmers and physically delivers to over 1 lakh clients in Mumbai and Pune via its own D2C App and Farm Stores. It collaborates closely with the farmer community to grow food responsibly while also utilising its in-house technologies to bring fresh vegetables and fruits to customers via its distribution channel. It also makes and distributes handpicked agri-produce and hand-made preservative-free snacks under the 'Village Staples' and 'Mom's Kitchen' labels. These are made solely by rural women in a sanitary central kitchen.
