In order to serve daily essential needs of people, Amazon India on Monday announced expansion of its AmazonNow app services to customers in Delhi and Mumbai.

On AmazonNow app, customers can order their everyday essentials across categories such as beverages, cooking staples, beauty, personal care and household basics from local stores like Hypercity and Spar, Modern Bazaar, Easy Day, BigBazaar, SRS, my247market.com. 

After ordering items on AmazonNow app, customers can get the delivery of products to their doorstep within two hours or at a pre-scheduled time, Amazon India said in a press release.

The company has partnered with two new delivery services- Express Delivery and Scheduled Delivery – for delivery of products to customers in Delhi and Mumbai. 

“The positive response prompted us to expand to Delhi and Mumbai, to be able to service our customers in these cities too and enable them to shop for their everyday essentials or over 5,000 products from the ecosystem of their local stores and get them delivered within two-four hours,” Amazon India category leader Saurabh Srivastava, said in a statement. 

As a promotional launch,the company will provide free delivery of products ordered via AmazonNow app in the two cities. 

To avail the AmazonNow Android app, customers can download it from Google's Play Store and enter their local pin code to start shopping.
