Just like Amazon's Prime, the products eligible for the premium facility, will be tagged as 'Flipkart Assured' with a blue badge, Flipkart said on its website. These products will undergo six quality checks from the storage to final packaging. The delivery of these products will be within 2-4 days.

"The 'Flipkart Assured' badge is a seal of quality and speed. Products with this badge meet our extensive quality & packaging guidelines along with having faster delivery times. With stringent seller & product selection combined with fast & free (free shipping for orders above Rs 500) delivery", the company said.

While Flipkart will ship orders above Rs 500 for free, Amazon Prime ships all the orders eligible under the 'Prime' service for free, with a one- or two-day delivery assurance.

Flipkart said, the 'assured products are available across categories including mobiles, electronics, fashion, home and appliances.

In July-end, Flipkart's fashion arm, Myntra had acquired the beleaguered online fashion retailer Jabong for Rs 430 crore ($70 million).

Flipkart believed that a combined Myntra and Jabong entity will define the next generation of online shopping with a base of 15 million monthly active users, far more than Amazon India.
