Have you ever been in a situation where you were in need of a cheque but didn't have the time to visit the bank branch and get it issued? Well. fret not. Public as well as private banks have various methods through which one can put in a request for a chequebook. On an average, you should get your chequebook at your doorstep in three to four working days, varying from bank to bank facilities and procedures. There are a number of methods available to get a new chequebook issued without having to visit your bank branch. The methods include the net banking services by the bank, ATM of the bank where you hold your account, SMS and bank applications.

By the ATM Method:

  • You can visit their bank's ATM to issue a chequebook for yourself.
  • You need to insert your debit card into the machine.
  • Enter your 4 digit debit card pin number.
  • Select the options like ' More Options' or 'Services', varying from bank to bank. There you will see the option for a chequebook request.
  • Request for a chequebook. Some banks also ask for the amount of leaflets you require, varying somewhere between 25 leaflets to 100 leaflets. Your bank will levy the charges it has for a chequebook and deduct it from your bank account.
  • The chequebook should reach your registered address with the bank within a span of three to four working days.

By the Internet Banking Method:

  • The customers who have themselves registered on the internet banking services of their respective banks can opt for this method. 
  • One simply needs to visit the official website of the respective parent bank.
  • Enter your user ID and password correctly.
  • Under the option of 'Product and Services' or 'Customer Services', you will find the option of 'chequebook request'. Click on the option. 
  • Select the account for which you wish to issue a chequebook for. Also, select the amount leaflets you need to get in your chequebook. 
  • Click on submit.
  • Expect your chequebook to reach your registered address within three to four working days.

By SMS method:

  • For this method you need to know the toll free number of your bank.
  • Once you know the toll free number, you have to SMS to register to the SMS service. It will look something like this
  • REG<space>account number” and send to <toll free number>. Please note that this step varies from bank to bank services. 
  • Make sure that the SMS you send for the request is from the registered mobile number with your bank.

By the Bank Mobile Application method:

  • Login to your bank's mobile application with your login id ans pin number.
  • Click on services. Under this option you will see Cheque book services. click on it.
  • Click on Issue Cheque Book.
  • Select the  account for which you wish to issue a chequebook for. Also, select the amount leaflets you need to get in your chequebook. 
  • Click on submit. 
  • You will receive your chequebook within three to four working days.
