Duggal — who is president of the cyberlaw.net said that awareness is the only solution to stop such crimes to happen as one small mistake may lead to losses to the tune of lakhs. On how a RuPay card beneficiary can ensure the safety of his or her money while using its RuPay card Duggal said, "Beneficiary of RuPay Card or another bank debit card is required to keep the Card in safe custody. Its PIN should be changed at regular intervals and should never be shared with anyone. While using the card at ATM Machine or PoS, PIN should be entered in the machine very secretly so that nobody could even guess about the PIN Number. As far as possible, Card should be used at authorized places/centers only. Besides, the PIN number should never be written on the Card."

Duggal said that the best way to remain insulated from PIN theft is to use the other hand covering the PoS or ATM keyboard while doing the transaction. It has been found that people ask for help from strangers while doing money withdrawal from the ATM and while doing this, they share the PIN of their RuPay Card that leads to fraudulent incidents taking against them.
