In a major development, the Department of Post under the Ministry of Communications has decided that only 28 Sub Offices (SOs)/Head Offices (HOs) and 99 Branch Post offices will remain open in the state of Goa till 31 May 2021. The decision has been taken in view of the coronavirus pandemic situation in the state, a government release said.
“While reviewing Covid Situation in Goa Postal Division, it is observed that the Covid Cases among the departmental staff are raised day by day. Considering the need of the hour and to save the lives of our valuable customers, it is decided that only 28 SOs/HOs and 99 Branch Post offices will continue to function in Goa state till 31th May 2021,” the release said.

Find the list of SOs/HOs and BOs functioningTotal number of active cases stood 23,946 cases as per the information available on the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) website. Total number of deaths stand at 2197.
The Department of Posts on its official website has already said that countrywide deliveries of speed post and other postal articles will likely be delayed because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation.
