What is FASTag

The FASTag is an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) sticker that we use on our vehicles for a seamless driving experience at toll plazas. This tag is scanned by the FASTag scanner automatically at toll plazas. This not only reduces the long queues at toll plazas but also reduces the need to carry physical cash.

It was made mandatory from January 1, 2021 for all private and commercial vehicles. In order to ensure that all vehicles use FASTag, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has made it mandatory for even purchasing new third-party insurance.
