Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a pension management software SAMPANN (System for Accounting and Management of Pension) to assist and provide additional benefit to pensioners of the telecom department on Saturday. The software will help around  5 lakh pensioners of the telecom department, helping them keep an eye on their pension from the comfort of their homes.

All you need to know about SAMPANN: 

Sampann is a seamless processing pension system which brings the processing, sanctioning, authorization and payment under a common roof. It will be a single window system where the user can track the facility online and in case of any discrepancy the users can register for grievance redressal online as well.

Also, the users will get direct SMS alert on their registered mobile numbers and the pension/ DR arrears/ Arrears directly credited in the bank account. 

How will Sampann benefit pensiners?

This softwarewill ensure timely disbursement of payment taking into consideration the accurate amount. The fact that the majority of the procedures like tracking, grievance redressal, crediting the pension amount will be an online procedure making it a lot more convenient and hassle-free.

Modi said that the Union Government is adapting more technological advancement to enhance 'ease of living' and greater ease of access to citizen-centric services. The prime minister said India Post Payments Bank is being used to expand banking services through post offices.

A network of over three lakh Common Service Centres is helping to provide a range of services digitally to the people in rural areas, he said.
