PM Kisan Yojana 2022 12th installment: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 17 released the 12th instalment of financial benefit worth Rs 16,000 crore to over 11 crore eligible farmers under the flagship PM-KISAN scheme. With this, the total amount transferred to the beneficiaries is expected to cross Rs 2.16 lakh crore.

The Prime Minister released the 12th instalment at a two-day event “PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022” being held at the Pusa campus in the national capital.

Farmers who have not received cash transfer yet

Those farmers who have not received the payment may not have updated their electronic know your customer (eKYC). According to the information on the official website of PM Kisan Yojana (pmkisan.gov.in), e-KYC has been made mandatory in this scheme. 

How to update eKYC

OTP Based eKYC is available on PM KISAN Portal or nearest CSC centres may be contacted for Biometric based eKYC. Therefore, if you are a beneficiary of the scheme, then definitely get your e-KVC done before 30 November. 

To do e-KYC online, one has to first go to the official website of PM Kisan Yojana at pmkisan.gov.in. After this, you have to click on the option of e-KYC appearing on the right side of the website. There you have to enter your Aadhaar number. After this, a message will come on the Aadhar registered mobile number. Enter the OTP received in the message here. After that click on 'Submit'. As soon as this process is completed, e-KYC of PM Kisan account will be done.

Other reasons for not receiving the payment

The following categories of beneificiaries of higher economic status shall not be elligible for benefit under the scheme.

1) All Institutional Land holders.

2) Farmer families which belong to one or more of the following categories:.

-Former and present holders of constitutional posts

-Former and present Ministers/ State Ministers and former/present Members of LokSabha/ RajyaSabha/ State Legislative Assemblies/ State Legislative Councils,former and present Mayors of Municipal Corporations, former and present Chairpersons of District Panchayats.

-All serving or retired officers and employees of Central/ State Government Ministries /Offices/Departments and its field units Central or State PSEs and Attached offices /Autonomous Institutions under Government as well as regular employees of the Local Bodies (Excluding Multi Tasking Staff /Class IV/Group D employees)

-All superannuated/retired pensioners whose monthly pension is Rs.10,000/-or more (Excluding Multi Tasking Staff / Class IV/Group D employees) of above category

-All Persons who paid Income Tax in last assessment year

-Professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and Architects registered with Professional bodies and carrying out profession by undertaking practices.

Step 1: Visit the official website of PM Kisan Yojana - pmkisan.gov.in

Step 2: Click on the 'Beneficiary Status' tab is present on the home page

Step 3: Now, after clicking on the beneficiary status, the person will have to choose either option - Aadhaar number, Account number, or Mobile number

Step 4: After choosing the selected option, click on 'Get Data'

Step 5: The beneficiaries will be able to see the data.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), eligible farmers are provided with a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each every four months. The fund is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

The scheme was launched in February 2019 but is being implemented with effect from December 2018. 

PM-KISAN is a central sector scheme with 100 per cent funding from the central government. The state government and UT administration identify the farmer families that are eligible for support as per scheme guidelines.
