Petrol, Diesel Price – There could be some respite to the common man as crude oil prices have come down. Expert Anuj Gupta, Vice President (VP), Commodity and Currency Research at IIFL Securities said that the trend will likely continue amid rising US inventories and Covid-19 cases seen fresh spikes across the globe.

A softer oil price would keep the price of diesel and petrol in check.

Over all, the Petrol prices have come down by 39 paisa while Diesel prices have come down by 37 paisa in Delhi. The price has gone up by Rs 7.26 per litre for petrol in the last 2 months i.e. January and February, while diesel rates have increased by Rs 7.60 per litre in the national capital region.

Crude oil prices fall

Gupta said that the near term outlook of crude oil was weak as coronavirus pandemic cases see a spike, creating fears of a fresh lockdown. That could trigger price cuts in petrol and diesel, he said
