Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana: In a significant move towards women's empowerment, various states in India have introduced schemes aimed at supporting and uplifting women economically and socially. One such initiative is the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana. It is a women's welfare programme announced by Delhi Finance Minister Atishi during the Delhi government's 2024 budget speech.

Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana is a flagship programme introduced by the Delhi government under which, every woman above 18 years of age will be given Rs 1,000 monetary assistance every month.  

The primary objective of this scheme is to offer financial aid to women belonging to economically weaker sections, enabling them to lead a dignified life and become financially independent.

Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana: Who is eligible?

If a woman is a resident of Delhi and has a Voter ID card of the National Capital, she can avail the benefits of Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana.

FM Atishi clarified that only women can apply for the scheme, who are-
- Not receiving pension or aid under any scheme from the Delhi government.
- Are not government employees
- Are not tax-paying women
-  Have a Delhi voter ID

Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana: Who will not get the benefit?

If you work in any government organisation in Delhi or pay any kind of tax, you will not get the benefit of this scheme. Apart from this, even if you are taking the benefit of any pension under the Delhi government, you are not eligible for this scheme.

If a woman wants to apply for this scheme, she needs to provide her
Voter ID card,
Aadhaar card,
PAN card and
Bank Account Details

Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana: When will the application process start?

The application process for the scheme- Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana- will start after the Lok Sabha elections.

Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana: Self-declaration letter needed

After the announcement of Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana in the budget, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that to avail the benefits of this scheme, women will have to give a self-declaration letter. The letter will clearly mention that she does not pay any tax and is not a government employee. About 45 to 50 lakh women will benefit from this scheme.
