Patients and health insurance companies have often complained about overcharging by hospitals and no solution has been found in this regard. Insurance regulator the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) is preparing a health insurance portal which will have information related to all health insurance policies and claims. Claims indicated by hospitals to insurance companies and TPA will be via this portal. This portal will also have information on claim settlement.

The new portal will also help in catching fraudulent claims and will also tell if two hospitals are changing for the same type of treatments.
