HDFC Bank FD Interest Rate: HDFC Bank has hiked FD (fixed deposit) interest rates on fixed deposits of less than Rs 2 crore. The revised rates will be effective from today, December 14.

The hike in the FD rate comes close on the heels of State Bank of India's decision to increase the interest rate of fixed deposits.

Senior Citizen Care FD

*As per the HDFC official website, senior citizens who seek to book a FD less than 5 crores for a duration of 5 years One day to 10 years during the special deposit offer running from May 18 to March 31, 2023, will receive an additional premium of 0.25 per cent (over and above the existing Premium of 0.50 per cent). Also, read- SBI FD interest rates hiked; senior citizens to get up to 7.25% return

For tenure of 5-year, 1 day to 10 years, the bank will offer an interest rate of 7.75 per cent. Note that the senior citizen rates are only for Resident Indians and do not app to NRIs.

On Wednesday, December 7, the Reserve Bank of India increased the repo rate for the fifth consecutive time this year. RBI has hiked the repo rate by 35 basis points. Due to this the repo rate has increased from 5.90 per cent to 6.25 per cent.
