Gold Price Today, December 21: Gold and silver metals are continuously fluctuating on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Gold crossed Rs 55,000 level in the evening trade on Wednesday, December 21. However, silver was trading near 0.26 per cent and maintained the level of Rs 69,000 in the futures market.

At 07:30 PM today, both the metals were trading in the green. The gold February's futures quoted Rs 55,078 per 10 grams, up by 0.33 percent. Whereas, silver metal was trading at Rs 69,822 per kg, up by 0.26 percent.

In the national capital, gold price rose Rs 192 to Rs 55,261 per 10 grams on Wednesday amid gains in precious metal prices internationally, according to HDFC Securities. Whereas silver jumped Rs 433 to Rs 69,962 per kilogram.

The yellow metal had closed at Rs 55,069 per 10 grams in the previous trade, said PTI report.

"Gold price is a little up in the Asian trading hours. Spot gold prices in the Delhi markets traded at Rs 55,261/10 grams, up Rs 192/10 grams," PTI said, citing HDFC Securities Research Analyst - Dilip Parmar.

In the international market, gold was trading higher at USD 1,815 per ounce, PTI said, while silver was up at USD 23.94 per ounce.

"Gold price traded steady after rising by more than 1 per cent in the previous session, as the dollar weakened after the Bank of Japan's surprise policy tweak," PTI said citing Senior VP Commodity Research at Motilal Oswal Financial Services Navneet Damani.
