All banks charge a fee in order to provide their facilities. One such service that is chargeable is ATM withdrawal - but only after free limits. The fee for using ATMs has been increased by several banks of late. As a result, customers have to pay more in order to use ATM services beyond the free transaction limit every month. This limit may differ depending on the type of account.

ATM fees for SBI

The State Bank of India (SBI) provides five free withdrawals in each region for its ATM. However, this number reduces to just three for other bank ATMs in metro cities - Namely, Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Beyond this limit, SBI will charge Rs 10 for withdrawals from SBI ATMs and Rs 20 for withdrawals from non-SBI ATMs. Similarly, the charges will be Rs 5 for non-financial transactions beyond the set limit at SBI ATMs and Rs 8 from other bank ATMs.  

ATM fees for HDFC Bank

HDFC Bank offers free five transactions per month from its ATM. The number of free transactions at other bank ATMs in metro cities is three and in non-metro cities is five. Post that, Rs 21 - plus applicable taxes - will be charged for cash withdrawal and Rs 8.50, along with taxes, will be charged for non-financial transactions. 

ATM fees for ICICI Bank

ICICI Bank too follows 5 and 3 rules i.e. 5 free transactions from its ATM and 3 from other bank ATMs in six metro locations. After this, the bank will charge Rs 20 per financial transaction and Rs 8.50 per non-financial transaction. These charges are for using both ICICI Bank ATMs and non-ICICI Bank ATMs.

ATM fees for Axis Bank

The number of free transactions offered at its ATMs is five and at non-Axis Bank ATMs is three (in metro locations). Post this limit, Rs 21 will be charged for cash withdrawal and Rs 10 per transaction for non-financial transactions - in both Axis and Non-Axis ATMs.

ATM fees for PNB

The Punjab National Bank offers five free transactions at its ATMs and three free transactions at other banks' ATMs (located in metro cities). Post that, the bank will charge Rs 10 for every transaction at PNB's bank ATMs. Similarly, the bank will charge Rs 20 per financial transaction and Rs 9 per non-financial transaction at other bank ATMs.
