The uptick in fuel prices continues in India especially when it comes to diesel prices, as OMCs hike prices of this product at much higher rate than petrol. Indian fuel prices which have been rising on the back of higher crude oil, weak rupee depreciation, state's reluctancy on trimming VAT and government ruling out excise duty cut, has taken a toll on citizens pocket. So much so that even the gap between petrol and diesel prices have narrowed. Interestingly, Mumbai is seen as most expensive city when it comes to selling diesel, but guess what! There are four other cities that actually charge you more than the financial hub. If you are the one residing in these four cities, then your pockets are most hit as you continue to pay expensive diesel.
