EPF Withdrawal Rules Online: Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is helping the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) account holders to meet their money needs during the lockdown. Actually, the government has eased the EPFO withdrawal rules during the Coronavirus lockdown. Now, employees can withdraw a fixed amount from their Provident Fund account. For this, EPFO has also taken several steps so that employees can withdraw their money easily without any problems. EPFO has completed the KYC (Know Your Customer) process of about 52.62 lakh accounts in April and May this year. In this, information like Aadhaar number, mobile number, bank account have been updated.

The EPFO announced about the KYC being done during the lockdown and said, "‘To increase the availability of online services, we have updated the KYC of 52.62 lakh subscribers. It has been completed in April and May 2020."

Not just EPFO KYC update, EPFO is giving subscribers to correct the mistakes committed in EPF accounts by subscribers. In the last two months, 4.81 lakh names, 2.01 lakh birth dates and 3.70 lakh Aadhaar card numbers have been changed under this facility. One can do this online by following simple steps.

Here is the step by step guide to correct mistakes in PF account:

1] Log in at epfindia.gov.in. If you are not registered on the EPFO portal, then click at 'Activate UAN';

2] Those who are registered with the EPFO needs to click at 'Manage' option on the EPFO home page;

3] Click pn ‘Modify Basic Details’;

4] Enter Aadhaar number; and

5] Update the name, gender, date of birth. Remember, all this information will have to be given as per your Aadhar card information.

After updating the information from your side, you will see the option of ‘Pending Request’. Actually, the updates made by you also have to be verified by your employer. You will not have to do anything for this. The verification request will automatically go to your employer.
