EPFO Fraud Case: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has asked its members to refrain from sharing certain information over phone or on social media to avoid losing their hard-earned money.

The EPFO has recently tweeted from its official Twitter handle warning its members the fraudulent activities. The tweet said, "#EPFO never asks it's members to share their personal details like Aadhaar, PAN, UAN, Bank Account or OTP over phone or on social media. Stay alert & beware of fraudsters."

 

The EPFO members must note that EPFO never asks for any personal detail like Aadhaar, PAN, UAN, bank account, OTP over phone, social media, WhatsApp and other. Furthermore, EPFO never asks to deposit any money through WhatsApp or social media, for any any services.

The EPFO has advised its members never to respond to any such calls or messages asking for personal details as they are all fraudulent activities.

The EPFO members must be aware of how to keep their documents secured online. They must note certain EPFO services that are available on DigiLocker. DigiLocker is a secure cloud-based platform for storage, sharing and verification of documents and certificates. The app is available for download on the Android and iOS devices.

The EPFO services available on DigiLocker are:

1) UAN card

2) Pension Payment Order (PPO)

3) Scheme Certificate

The EPFO members should know that in order to avail the above-mentioned services on DigiLocker, one has to register with DigiLocker in the first place. Then one has to verify oneself and after that one has to fetch the documents on DigiLocker.
