EPF Withdrawal: The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has helped account holders by easing the EPF withdrawal norms during the COVID-19 pandemic. Actually, the Narendra Modi Government amended the EPFO withdrawal rules allowing the EPF account holders to go for partial EPF withdrawal in order to get money during lockdown when they would have run short. Now, employees can withdraw a fixed amount from their EPF account. For this, EPFO has also taken several steps so that employees can withdraw their money on quickly without facing any hassles.

However, if there is any mistake in EPF account like name mismatch in the documents, date of birth, etc, then in that case, the EPF withdrawal plea will not be cleared. So, those who have applied for EPF withdrawal must check the reason for the delay in money getting credited to their account and if it's related to mistakes in account details, then they should rush and carry out the correction online.

Here is the step by step guide to correct one's mistakes in EPF account:

1] Log in at epfindia.gov.in. If you are not registered on the EPFO portal, then click on 'Activate UAN';

2] Those who are registered with the EPFO needs to click at 'Manage' option on the EPFO home page;

3] Click on ‘Modify Basic Details’;

4] Enter Aadhaar number; and

5] Update the name, gender, date of birth. Remember, all this information will have to be given as per your Aadhaar card.

After updating the information from your side, you will see the option of ‘Pending Request’. Actually, the updates made by you also have to be verified by your employer. You will not have to do anything for this. The verification request will automatically go to your employer.
