EPFO KYC Update: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made an exemplary progress in ensuring EPFO KYC updates can happen even when the nation is facing challenging times due to the Coronavirus spread. As per a Ministry of Labour and Employment update on 22nd August 2020, during July 2020, EPFO successfully updated 2.39 Lakh Aadhaar cards, 4.28 Lakh Mobile numbers and 5.26 Lakh Bank Account's in the EPFO UAN database of its subscribers.

The Ministry of Labour & Employment went on to add that this EPFO KYC updation was of great help in empowering EPFO subscribers for availing the services of EPFO online mode and thus eliminating the need for any kind of physical contact with any office of EPFO for its needs.

How to do EPFO UAN KYC update online

If someone still wants to update one's EPFO UAN KYC details, then he or she can do this online by logging in at the EPFO UAN portal by simply logging in at epfindia.gov.in. Here is the step by step guide:

1] Log in at epfindia.gov.in;

2] Click at the EPFO UAN link;

3] Go to the drop down menu and select ‘Profile’;

4] 'Update KYC Profile' will get displayed; and

5] Upload the KYC document that you want to update.

One must note that uploaded KYC documents by the EPFO subscriber must be digitally approved by its employer.

List of documents that constitutes EPFO KYC Information

Here is the list of documents that are considered important for EPFO KYC Update:

1] National Population Register (NPR);

2] Aadhaar Card;

3] PAN or Permanent Account Number;

4] Bank Account Number;

5] Passport;

6] Driving License (DL);

7] Election or Voter ID Card; and

8] Ration Card.

The KYC updation is a one time Process that helps in the identity verification of its subscribers through linking of the Universal Account Number (UAN) with the KYC details. Once this exercise is completed and seeded KYC details validated, the EPFO subscriber becomes empowered to avail services of EPFO through digital mode.
