In a tweet on August 27, EPFO said that "Members can download UAN Card, Pension Payment Order (PPO) and Scheme Certificate through DigiLocker."

“All documents are downloadable on DigiLocker”, the organisation’s tweeted image read.

For salaried workers, the UAN is an important document that allows them to keep a check on their various Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) accounts.

At the same time, the Pension Payment Order (PPO) number is a unique 12-digit number that is required for pensioners to get their pension.

Subsequently, the EPS Certificate is a document issued by the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), which has the details of the service of the Provident Fund member.

It shows the service details of the employee including the number of years he has served, the family details of an employee, and the member of the family who is eligible to get a pension in case of death of the member.

EPFO administers a contributory provident fund, pension scheme, and insurance scheme for the workforce engaged in organized sector.

The EPFO was formed by Employees Provident Fund Ordinance on November 15, 1951. It was later replaced by the Employees Provident Fund Act, 1952.

Under the digital India program, DigiLocker is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY).

It aims at ‘Digital Empowerment’ of the citizen by providing access to authentic digital documents to the citizen's digital document wallet.
