e-Shram Registration: Can same mobile number be used for multiple registrations? Giving an answer to this question, the official Twitter handle of Common Services Centres, a government of India entity working under Ministry of Electronics and IT, has said that only 3 registrations are allowed per mobile number.

It also asked Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) to enter the beneficiary mobile number and not their own number while registering.

It can be noted that e-Shram is a centralized database of unorganized workers seeded with Aadhaar and was launched on August 26, 2021.

Workers from the unorganized sectors can register on the e-Shram portal by logging in to the official website at eshram.gov.in. Registration can also be done via Common Service Centres (CSC) and by State Government field offices in districts/Sub-districts.

Steps to register:

1. Login to the official website at eshram.gov.in.

2. Click on the 'Register on e-SHRAM' link which is present on the home page.

3. Enter the Aadhaar linked mobile number and captcha code and click on send OTP.

4. Follow the subsequent instructions to complete the registration process.

It can be noted that if a worker does not have Aadhaar linked mobile number, he/ she can visit nearest CSC’s and register through Biometric authentication.

Documents Required

Those registering for the e-Shram require documents like Aadhaar Number, Aadhaar linked mobile number and bank account number.

Benefits

After registering, the unorganized worker will get an Accidental Insurance cover of 2 Lakhs under PMSBY. In future, all the social security benefits of unorganized workers will be delivered through this portal. In emergency and national pandemic like situations, this database may be utilized to provide necessary assistance to the eligible unorganized workers.
