Bank Holidays In October 2019: On account of Dussehra, Diwali and other festivals, the banks will remain closed in October 2019 on as many as 11 days in the month. So, it becomes important for bank account holders to keep the list of bank holidays in October 2019 in mind and keep ample amount of cash in hand while doing the necessary banking transactions to avoid any delay or untoward incident related to their banking history.

Due to Dussehra and Diwali falling in the month of October 2019, there will be 7 days in total, when the banks will remain closed. The nation would be celebrating Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 and hence the banks will remain closed on October 2nd too. Mahanavmi is falling on October 7th (Monday) while Dussehra is falling on October 8th (Tuesday), which is a bank holiday.

As Sunday is a Holiday, banks will remain closed for three consecutive days from October 6th to October 8th. Bank ATM refilling would also remain suspended as all banking officials will be enjoying their festival holidays. Therefore, people are advised to keep enough cash in hand this weekend to avoid any kind of cash crisis during the Dussehra celebration.

Since banks remain closed on second and fourth Saturday, the banking services won't be available for customers on October 12th and October 26th. So, banks will remain closed on October 12th, 13th, 26th and 27th. Diwali is falling on 27th, which is Sunday, so there will bank holiday in any case, but on coming 28th October, banks will be closed on account of Govardhan Festival and on October 29th, banks will remain closed for Bhai Dooj festival.

Consecutive bank holidays will continue in November 2019 too, Banks will remain closed on second Saturday i.e. on November 9 and Guru Nanak Jayanti is falling on October 11 which is also a bank holiday. So, banking services will remain closed for three consecutive days from November 9th to November 11th.
