The banks across country will remain closed for 9 days in April as per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) calendar for bank holidays.  These holidays by the RBI will vary from state-to-state and will also depend on banks. Besides about these banking holidays, one should also know that these depend on the festivals being observed in specific states or notification of specific occasions in those states. However, as per RBI bank calendar 2021, the upcoming month is set to witnesses many days when most of the banks will not be operational.

Reserve Bank of India has placed its Holidays under three categories—Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday.  First bank holiday in the next month has been allowed by RBI as on April 1 to enable Banks to close their yearly accounts

General Elections to Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly 2021: April 6

Gudhi Padwa/Telugu New Year's Day/Ugadi Festival/Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba)/1st Navratra/Baisakhi: April 13

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti/Tamil New Year's Day/Vishu/Biju Festival/Cheiraoba/Bohag Bihu: April 14

Himachal Day/Bengali New Year’s Day/Bohag Bihu/Sarhul: April 15

Bohag Bihu: April 16

Shree Ram Navmi (Chaite Dashain)/Garia Puja: April 21
In total there are 9 banking holidays in April and those planning to visit banks next month must cross verify RBI calendar and the banks they have their account with.  Holidays of the mentioned days will be observed in various regions according to the state declared holidays, however for the gazetted holidays, banks will be closed all over the country.
