Bank fixed deposits (FDs) are usually considered the safest of investment options out there in the financial world. They offer a guaranteed return on investment, which isn't the case with equity investments. However, some investors in a hurry to make gains, hesitate to put money in fixed deposits because of comparatively less returns. That has just changed. In what comes as a good news, Jana Small Finance Bank, the Bengaluru-based microlender, has announced a Republic Day Offer under which it is offering an interest rate of up to 9.75 per cent on fixed deposits (FD) for senior citizens. The offer has been launched to mark India's 71st Republic Day.

As part of Jana Small Finance Bank's Republic Day Offer, all fixed deposits (FD) opened between January 22, 2019, and January 28, 2019 will attract 9.75 per cent returns. To get this rate, the customers will have to put their money in the bank for three years. 

However, not just senior citizens, other invetsors too can expect a higher return from FDs. The regular customers will get an interest rate of 9 per cent if they open a fixed deposit for three years with Jana Small Finance Bank. Apart from this, the bank also offers an interest rate of 9.25% on Fixed Deposit Plus with no premature withdrawal. The bank is offering an interest of 8.75 per cent, 9 per cent, 8.5 per cent and 7 per cent on fixed deposits (FD) of tenure from 181 days to 365 days,  from over 1 year to 3 years, from over 3 years to 5 years and from more than 5 years to 10 years, respectively.

According to the terms and conditions of the bank, the rates are only applicable for investments less than Rs 1 crore. The customers can contact the branches of Jana Small Finance Bank to obtain the interest rates on fixed deposits of Rs 1 crore and above.

Investment in a fixed deposit will also make the customers eligible for a Jana Bankable Debit card which comes with welcome benefits worth Rs 15,000 on top brands.
