Bank Holidays in September 2021: The bank customers must note that banks across various cities will remain closed for four days this week. Due to this, the bank customers will not be able to withdraw and deposit money at the bank branches. So, they should take care of these activities earlier.

It must be noted that the banks will remain closed on September 8, 9, 10 and 11. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI)  grants holidays to the banks under three categories. They are Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

The banks will remain closed on September 8, 2021, on the occasion of Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva in Guwahati.  On September 9, 2021, the banks will remain closed on the occasion of Teej (Haritalika) in Gangtok. The banks will remain closed on September 10, 2021, on the occasions of Ganesh Chaturthi/Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha)/Vinayakar Chathurthi/Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur and Panaji. Again, the banks will remain closed on September 11, 2021 due to Ganesh Chaturthi (2nd day) in Panaji.

Furthermore, the banks will remain closed on September 12, 2021, because of Sunday.

Also, it has to be noted that the banks will remain closed on 17th, 20th and 21st of this month. The banks will remain closed on September 17, 2021 due to Karma Puja in Ranchi. Again, the banks will remain closed on September 20, 2021 because of  Indrajatra in Gangtok. On September 21, the banks will remain closed on the occasion of Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

It can be noted that online banking services will continue to operate on holidays as well. Bank customers will not be able to withdraw and deposit money at the bank branches due to the holidays. However, ATMs, mobile banking will also be available during these days.
