Increase in 7th Pay Commission (7th CPC) based DA

This time the DA for central employees was increased by 5%, which is the highest in 3 years. The reason for this is the rise in inflation in AICPI during January to June 2019. Inflation in the AICPI figures for January to June has increased by more than 5%. The revised salary will have an increase from Rs 900 to Rs 12,500 per month.

Revised salary will come on 25th October

The guidelines have been issued to start giving salary from October 25, before Diwali and Chhath Puja. However, normally the salary of the employees comes on the first date of the month, but in view of two big festivals it has been decided to give it in advance.

Financial burden on government

Modi also said that on the lines of the central government, the state government has decided to give five per cent additional Dearness Allowance based on 7th Pay Commission to its employees and pensioners. The state government has issued guidelines to the finance department in this regard. However, with the additional Dearness Allowance, the burden of the state government is estimated to be Rs 1,048 crore.
