7th Pay Commission latest news: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting job applications for the post of  Research Officer (Social Studies). After successful completion of the recruitment process, the selected candidate will be given Group ‘A’ Gazetted post and their pay scale will be of Level-10. The post notification clarifies that the vacancy is permanent in nature and the selected candidate will have to serve one years probation period.

7th Pay Commission Pay Scale

As mentioned earlier, the selected candidate will be appointed as Group ‘A’ Gazetted at the central government. The appointee will be eligible for Level-10 pay and perks as applicable under the 7th CPC (Central Pay Commission). Means the pay scale offered under this 7th pay commission job is from Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500 plus Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), etc.

Age Limit

Interested and eligible candidates applying for the post should not exceed 35 years as on normal closing date i.e. 10th September 2020. Upper age limit is relaxable for regularly appointed Central/UT Government Servants upto Five years as per instructions/ orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.

Eligibility criteria

The applicant should have a Master's Degree in Anthropology (with specialization in Cultural or Social Anthropology) or Sociology from a recognized University and three years’ experience of Social Research on Village and Community Studies with special reference to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes.

Doctorate degree in Anthropology (with specialization in Cultural or Social Anthropology) or Sociology from a recognized University will be a desirable qualification expected from the applicant.

An applicant must note that the post offered in UPSC job notification is permanent and classified as General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
