The scheme has been launched in the states of Gujarat, Haryana, and Assam along with the Union Territories of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Puducherry as well as Daman and Diu. Therefore, only the residents of these states and UTs can benefit from this scheme as of now. However, the scheme would be implemented across India soon.

Mera Bill Mera Adhikaar scheme rewards

The Finance Ministry has created a fund of Rs 30 crore for this initiative. The Mera Bill Mera Adhikaar scheme would reward 800 lucky winners, who will receive Rs 10,000  each. Moreover, 10 participants would be entitled to receive a prize money of Rs 10 lakh. In addition, a grand prize of Rs 1 crore will be given through lucky draws every quarter. Under this scheme, two individuals will be entitled to get Rs 1 crore cash prize in each quarter.

However, only these cash prizes aren't the rewards that one can get through this scheme. The actual motive of promoting the practice of asking for invoices would help consumers in tracking their expenses and would help in eliminating discrepancies on the seller's side as they would be obliged to record every transaction legitimately, which would eventually contribute to reducing tax evasions. Further, it'll help the government in achieving its target of enhancing GST collection.

How to participate in the Mera Bill Mera Adhikaar scheme?

The first step for taking part in this scheme is to download the Mera Bill Mera Adhikaar app that is available on the App Store and Google Play Store. On the other hand, people can visit the official website to avail  its benefits. For earning rewards, people need to upload their GST bills that have a minimum value of Rs 200.

Moreover, participants are urged to register on the app using their mobile numbers and are encouraged to fill in accurate details as they won't be able to edit it in future. Documents such as Aadhaar card, PAN card and bank account details would be needed for completion of the application.
