To avoid rush at the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) offices, the EPFO has introduced multiple options for pensioners. If your digital life certificate is due in November, now you can submit it at the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC), at any pension disbursing bank and on Umang App. The message was shared by EPFO on tweeter.

The aim of this initiative is to avoid rush, unnecessary standing in crowd or queue in order to keep people safe from Covid 19 infections, reads EPFO message on tweeter.   

Now pensioner will be able to submit online life certificate at their convenience during any time of the year. The life certificate will remain valid for 1 year from the date of its submission.    

Pensioner can also submit digital life certificate from any nearby post office or through a postman by paying a nominal fee of Rs 70 from their home itself.   

The life certificate submitted through all these modes are equally valid and pensioners need not visit or submit any document at PF office again.    

Aadhar number, PPO number, bank account details and mobile number of the pensioners are required to submit digital life certificate. After submission of the digital life certificate, there is no need to send any document to EPFO office. Pensioners can view their Jeevan Praman details in pensioners’ portal of EPFO website.     

To get the list of the nearest Common Service Centre, pensioners can send SMS (JPL+ area pincode) to 7738299899.

Further, pensioners can click on ‘'locate a centre’' tab on jeevanpramaan.gov.in r locator.esccloud.in to procure information about centres accepting digital life certifcate.
