Maharashtra Day 2023, Maharashtra bank holiday: Public and private sector banks will remain closed on Monday, May 1 on the account of Maharashtra Day/ May Day as per the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) bank official holiday calendar. Maharashtra Day is celebrated every year on May 1 to commemorate the formation of the state in India on this day in 1960. The state was formed after the division of the Bombay State.

Banks in Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad - Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad - Telangana, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, and Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed.
