Bank holidays in November: Bank branches in several parts of the country will remain closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 14 and 15, for holidays.

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) website, rbi.org.in, banks in certain regions will be shut for Diwali (Bali Pratipada), Deepavali, Vikram Samvant New Year Day or Laxmi Puja holiday on Tuesday, and for Bhaidooj, Chitragupt Jayanti, Laxmi Puja (Deepawali), Ningol Chakkouba or Bhratridwitiya the next day as the festive season gains momentum in the country.

Bank holiday November 14

Banks in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Gangtok, Mumbai and Nagpur will remain shut on Tuesday.

Bank holiday November 15

They will remain closed in Gangtok, Imphal, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow and Shimla on Wednesday.

Bank holidays in November

Bank branches located in several parts of the country will remain closed for an additional seven days in November in view of festivals and national events, excluding the second and fourth Saturdays, and all Sundays, according to the RBI's holiday calendar.

  • Seng Kutsnem or Egaas-Bagwaal: November 23

  • Kanakadasa Jayanthi: November 30 

These holidays will not be uniformly applied across the country and will vary from region to region as some holidays will be observed nationwide as public holidays while others will be treated as local holidays.
