UGC Net July 2018 registration: The final bells for completion of registration of University Grant Commission's (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) July 2018 exams are about to start. So, interested candidates should log onto cbsenet.nic.in and apply at the earliest. The exam is being conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for being an Assistant Professor as well as Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). Scroll down for details:

Last date of registration: April 5, 2018. 

Last date for submission of fee: April 6, 2018. 

Date of Examination: July 8, 2018 (Sunday)

Number of Subjects for which exams will be conducted: 84 subjects                                

Venue: 91 selected NET examination cities spread across the country

Age Eligibility: For applying for Junior Research Fellowship 30 years. The age was extended to 30 years from previous age limit of 28years. 

Category Age Relaxation:

For OBC (non-creamy layer): Five years

For SC/ST/PWD/Transgender: Five years

For candidates who have served in the armed forces: Five years

Examination Scheme:
Paper I: 100 marks; number of questions: 50; duration: 1 hour (09.30 am to 10.30 am)

Paper II: 200 marks; number of questions: 100; duration: 2 hours (11 am to 01 pm)

UGC NET 2018 examination fee:

General: Rs 1,000

Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer): Rs 500

SC/ST/PwD/Transgender: Rs 250

Step 2: Click on the relevant link and enter the necessary details
Step 3: Submit the application
Step 4: Take a printout for future reference

The candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for Assistant Professor. The universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations may select the JRF awardees for whole time research work in accordance with the procedure prescribed by them. The award of JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both OR Eligibility for Assistant Professor only will depend on the performance of the candidate in all three papers of NET. However, the candidates qualifying exclusively for Assistant Professor will not be considered for award of JRF.
