Consumer durable stocks such as Voltas, Symphony, Blue Star and IFB Industries were trading in positive territory, while beverage stocks, Varun Beverages and United Breweries, were also in green as IMD predicted severe heat in the coming days in its April-June forecast report.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its report that there is a fear of severe heat in Central India in April. 

It also said that there is a possibility of more heat than normal in some parts of North and South India.

After IMD's report for the April-June period, here's how consumer durables and beverage stocks are trading.

Voltas Ltd

Voltas hit a 52-week high of Rs 1,215.20, jumping by 5.35 per cent from its previous close of Rs 1,153.45.

The stock closed the trading session on Tuesday up by 3.15 per cent, or Rs 36.35, at Rs 1,189.80 on Tuesday.  

Symphony

The stock of the company soared by 11.94 per cent to reach the day's high of Rs 971.95 after closing at Rs 868.25 a day before.

The stock that opened at Rs 892.05 on Tuesday closed trading up by 9.47 per cent, or Rs 82.20, at Rs 950.45. 

Blue Star

The stock jumped by 2.78 per cent to the day's high of Rs 1,316.15 on Tuesday after a previous close of Rs 1,280.50.

Starting its journey at Rs 1,293.95 on Tuesday, the stock closed trading up by 2.36 per cent, or Rs 30.20, at Rs 1,310.70.

IFB Industries

Its stock nearly touched the 52-week high when it jumped by 1.94 per cent to Rs 1,587.25 after closing at Rs 1,557.10 a day ago.

The stock that opened at Rs 1,587.25 on Tuesday closed trading down by 0.93 per cent, or Rs 14.50, at Rs 1,542.60.

Varun Beverages

The beverage stock rose by 1.70 per cent to the day's high of Rs 1,421.00 on Tuesday after closing at Rs 1397.30 a day ago.

After opening at Rs 1,420.00 on Tuesday, the stock of Varun Beverages closed higher by 0.63 per cent, or Rs 8.75, at Rs 1,406.05.

United Breweries 

The breweries stock saw a jump of 2.08 per cent to the day's high of Rs 1,822.90 on Tuesday after ending the previous trading session at Rs 1,785.75.

Starting its session at Rs 1,775.85 on Tuesday, the stock closed trading up by 0.91 per cent, or Rs 16.25 at Rs 1,802.00.
