Indian equities continued their losing streak for the second straight session on Wednesday (November 1). Nifty ended the session below the 19,000 level at 18,989, down 0.47 per cent, while the 30-share Sensex declined 0.44 per cent to settle at 63,591.33.

Corporate results today (November 2): Adani Enterprises, Adani Power, Berger Paints, Container Corporation of India, Chemplast Sanmar, Clean Science & Technology, Deepak Fertilisers, Dabur India, Gujarat Gas, and Godrej Properties, among others, will announce their September results on Thursday (November 2).
 
Hero MotoCorp: Shares of the auto major will be in focus after the company’s standalone PAT for the Q2 period increased 47 per cent year-on-year (YoY).

Godrej Consumer Products: Shares of the personal care company will be tracked after its quarterly numbers were announced on Wednesday. The company’s consolidated net profit surged YoY to Rs 432 crore in the reporting quarter.

Jet Airways: The Enforcement Directorate said on Wednesday (November 1, 2023) that it had attached properties worth Rs 538.05 crore of the embattled Jet Airways and individuals, including founder-chairman Naresh Goyal and others. The properties have been attached under the provisions of the PMLA, 2022, in a money laundering case against the chairman.

Triveni Turbine: Shares of the heavy electrical equipment company will gain focus after its Q2 results. During the quarter, the company posted a standalone net profit of Rs 48.6 crore as against Rs 32 crore in the year-ago period.

Tata Steel: The steel maker in the Q2 period posted a loss of Rs 6511 crore versus a profit after tax of Rs 1,297 crore in the same period last year.

Britannia Industries: The biscuit maker on Wednesday reported a 19.55 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 586.50 crore in the second quarter ended September 2023 due to softening commodity prices. The profit during the same period last year was Rs 490.58 crore.

LIC Housing Finance: The company posted its September quarter results after market hours on Wednesday. The housing financier for the reporting period posted a profit of Rs 1188 crore as against Zee Business estimates of Rs 1,255 crore.

JK Tyre: The tyre company for the July–September period posted strong performance on all parameters. Margins also expanded to 15.12 per cent from 7.9 per cent in the same period last year.

KEC International: The heavy electrical equipment company for the September quarter posted a good set of numbers, especially on the operational front. The top line at the company grew 11 per cent YoY.

Kansai Nerolac: The paints company posted good September results, with profit increasing 54 per cent YoY to Rs 177 crore. Also, the company’s shares will gain focus after the crude prices have fallen to $85 per barrel.

Eicher Motors: Royal Enfield sales at the company for the October month came in lower than estimates at 84,435 units. Zee Business estimated sales to be 85,000 units during the month.

GAIL/BPCL: GAIL (India) on Wednesday (November 1) signed an agreement with BPCL for the supply of propane for its upcoming petrochemical plant in Usar, Maharashtra.

Syrma SGS Technology: The industrial company on Wednesday reported a weak set of numbers for the Q2 period. The margin at the company for the reporting period slipped to 6.86 per cent versus 10 per cent YoY.

Corporate actions: Shares of Bhansali Engineering, Coforge, Hindustan Unilever, Kajaria Ceramics, Laurus Labs, Share India Securities, and Tech Mahindra will trade ex-dividend on Thursday. On the other hand, Cantabil Retail will trade ex-split in the ratio of 10:2. Further, Jeena Sikho Lifecare will trade ex-bonus for a 4:5 bonus share issue.
